But there is not only the fantastic and wide sandy beach of Maspalomas where you can relax, swim or walk along the sea while listening to the sound of the seagulls. In addition, the region also offers the seasonal saltwater lagoon “Charca de Maspalomas”, which houses a unique ecosystem and is inhabited by migratory birds and native animals. This is under the protection of the Natural Park “Dunes of Maspalomas”, a large nature reserve of exceptional value. The lighthouse “Faro de Maspalomas” serves as a witness to the first routes between Europe and America and is also worth a visit.
