Maspalomas beach
Maspalomas beach is probably the most famous on Gran Canaria.
In the south of the island is a natural area of exceptional value, the Maspalomas Dunes Special Nature Reserve.
This reserve is made up of three ecosystems: The palm grove, the pond and the dunes.
Maspalomas beach is just a few minutes’ drive from the hotel.
It stands out for its 55-metre-high lighthouse, which was lit for the first time in 1890.
On the almost 6-kilometer-long beach you will find services such as sun lounger hire and several beach bars and restaurants.
Right next to it are two other beaches, Meloneras and Playa del Inglés.
Amadores beach
Amadores beach is a neighbor of Puerto Rico beach.
Similar to Mogán, it has a seawall that protects it from the waves, while the soft white sand invites you to sunbathe.
In 2004, Amadores was awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its services.
Las Nieves beach in Agaete
Las Nieves in Agaete is a pebble beach.
Ideal for taking a break in a quiet and pleasant environment such as the village of Agaete.
Just a few meters from this beach you will also find the natural pools of Agaete and unspoiled places with great charm. A perfect place for those who love diving.
Puerto Rico beach
Puerto Rico beach is located in the municipality of Mogán.
Here you can enjoy the sun almost every day of the year.
It is also a quiet beach with no swell and numerous services thanks to the protection of the marina.
You will find a shopping center and restaurants less than 2 minutes away.
Right on the beach you can practice various water sports, such as jet ski rental, parasailing and much more.
Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas
Las Canteras is a beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, right next to the heart of the city.
There are more than 3 kilometers of sand that are perfect for walking, sunbathing, snorkeling or diving.
It is considered one of the best urban beaches in Europe.
In addition, the avenue offers all kinds of services such as restaurants, terraces, ice cream parlors and stores.
Shuttle service to Maspalomas beach
At Casa Leon Royal Retreat we offer a free shuttle service to the lighthouse and Maspalomas beach.
You can decide whether you want to stay close to Maspalomas beach and the boulevard of Meloneras or use a connection to other destinations on the island.
The bus station is located near our bus stop.
From this stop you can travel to all the beaches mentioned above:
- Playa de las Canteras: Line 30 to Las Palmas.
- Playa de Puerto Rico: Line 39/90 (Playa del Cura) to the beach of Puerto Rico.
- Playa de Las Nieves, Agaete: Line 30 in the direction of Las Palmas, change at Juan XXIII to line 130 in the direction of Puerto de las Nieves.
- Playa de Amadores: Line 01 southbound.
- Playa de Maspalomas: Shuttle directly from Casa León.
